Memorial Service Information

Ottawa Police Constable Ireneusz ‘Eric’ Czapnik was killed on December 29, 2009 in the line of duty. Eric was 51 year old.

He joined the Ottawa Police Service on April 10, 2007. He was assigned to patrol in East Division, where he enjoyed interacting with the public and serving the community. Like his father, he was proud to be a police officer and enjoyed serving his community.

Funeral and visitation:

A full Police funeral for Constable Ireneusz ‘Eric’ Czapnik will be held at the Ottawa Civic Centre, Lansdowne Park, located at 1015 Bank Street on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 1:30pm.

Visitations will be held at the Beechwood Cemetery, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6 (from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm).

A Funeral Procession will be organized and everyone should plan for the weather. More details to come next week.
